PrivacyPerfect’s new Data Subject Request (DSR) Form

Aug 25, 2022 12:00:00 AM | GDPR Compliance PrivacyPerfect’s new Data Subject Request (DSR) Form

Since the GDPR went into effect in May 2018, more and more people have become aware of their right to make a request to access the personal data that an organisation holds on them or have these data modified or deleted. This request, also known as a “Data Subject Request” (DSR), is a legal right for individuals according to the GDPR. Organisations are, in most cases, required to fulfil those data subject requests and will risk fines or other penalties if they don’t.

If an organisation processes a large amount of personal data, has to deal with numerous processing, or when the processings contain particularly sensitive personal data, it is wise to use a software tool to handle a data subject request. This will make the request within an organisation easier, faster, and larger.

Since July 2020, PrivacyPerfect offers its Data Subject Request Module, which is built and designed based on the guidance documents of national supervisory authorities and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) as an add-on module. A new feature will now be added to this module: DSR Forms.

With the arrival of the DSR forms, handling a data subject request will become even easier. The new feature will help your company to integrate the PrivacyPerfect module with your own website/system. Thanks to customisable forms that can be easily posted on your website and directly filled by the data subjects, the DSR process becomes automated and accelerated. Once a request is submitted by a data subject, it automatically generates a Requester and DSR record in PrivacyPerfect. This speeds up the processing of the data subject request and reduces the chance of a GDPR violation since the GDPR states that, in general, a response must take place within 30 days of receipt of the request.
